On the mend...

Yesterday I went shopping for a carseat for Collin that will grow with him. After I got home I vacumned the upstairs. (It's so hard with my Dyson, ha!) Last night I umpired 2 games. Today I'm a little sore but feeling better. It's amazing what a week will do! Looks like I'm on the mend!

Guess I wasn't quite ready...

Woke up at 5:30am, got up at 6:30, got to work by 7:30 and was back home by 9:30. I got light headed and shakey and was freezing. My eyes started going blurry and my back was killing me. Sat. I did 4 loads of laundry and rode (s-l-o-w-l-y) my recumbant bike for 30 min. Yesterday I stayed home from church and rested so I figured I'd be fine today. I had a hard time breathing, not sure what's going on but guess I wasn't quite ready.

It's a blessing...

Had my gall bladder out Wed. I was nervous and a bit scared. My scoliosis changes how my organs are situated so I was a little worried there would be problems. Garn gave me a wonderful blessing the night before. In it he said I was faithful and dedicated to the gospel and to use that faith as I go into the surgery and it will help me with whatever I needed. He blessed me to be calm and that the Dr. would be guided in the surgery. There were many other things that he said which pretty much left me in awe. I'm so grateful for the Priesthood that Garn holds and honors and can use at any time. It's the best medicine a person can have. Since pain meds make me really sick and Ibuprofen hurts my stomach I'm pretty much left with Tylenol. It doesn't have bad side effects but it doesn't really help with the pain either. But a Priesthood blessing administered by a worthy man works wonders and has no bad side effects. After surgery, I had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia and was in a lot of pain. I couldn't concentrate on anything and I needed to go home. I asked Garn for a blessing to help me be strong enough to fight the nausea and pain and get dressed to leave. Within minutes I was dressed and ready to leave! A blessing doesn't have to wait for a Dr.'s approval or take time to work. It is immediate and effective. Growing up I didn't know what the Priesthood was or blessings. Now, after years of experiencing the blessings of the gospel in my and my family's lives, I don't see how I lived without it. It truly is a blessing.

COLLIN IS ONE TODAY!

I know these pics are 5 mos. old. I'm taking a lot more next month! And the month after that! And the month after that!
About Collin:
As you can see, he is a happy, smiling boy
He really can't be called a baby anymore
He walks and talks and screams and has 2yr. old tantrums so he's definitely trying to leave the baby stage behind.
He has the cutest squinty smile and loves to stick out his tongue
He likes to climb in and on and over things. He even climbs in the dishwasher, just like his mom used to do! She broke her arm climbing up on the barstool to the counter and into the cupboards.
He's the first male to ever go on "The girls' Week-end"
He has us all wrapped around his little fingers and in our hearts!
Happy Birthday to our youngest grandchild. Have a Great party tonight. Wish we were there to celebrate it with you! We love you!
