NOW I can rest!

Singing in a quartet in Sac Mtg. always is scarey. Glad it's over!

Weather looks like it's changing, it's getting down right nippy in the mornings.

Racquetball tonight! I played Fri and then Sat morning I played volleyball with Misty's team. I could play because they were shorthanded so it was a forfeit. Sad thing is, we won! Hard to believe they couldn't get 6 women combining 2 wards, but there are soccer and football games that are competing. It was fun, anyway.

We may take off with Misty's family this week-end as a last minute get-away. Don't know yet where we're going but sorry, Marin, we'll not be coming up. We'll need more time off school to make the drive.

Guess I'd better go get my Fall decorations out and look up the Crazy Corn Maze dates. I think I would like Fall better if it didn't mean winter were just around the corner!

STATE FAIR WAS............

Cold, windy, rainy and muddy! At least we got to spend time with Misty and fam. Wish everyone could have been there like old times.

YUBA LAKE TRIATHALON

The 4 Musketeers: Garn, Ken. Jeanine, and Mary the morning of the race before it started

Garn entering Yuba Lake for the 1st leg of the Tri
Mary finishing the swim and heading to the bikes

Garn finishing his swim and going up the boat ramp to the bikes

Garn finishing his run and checking for anyone sneaking up on him. He and Mary each took 2nd in their ages!

I met the coolest family at Yuba. Jeanine and 4 of her kids arrived Fri afternoon and we played games and had a great time. Jeanine's husband came later that night. Brendan, Aubrey, Erin and Jeron are great kids and we hit it off immediately. Of course, people who play games usually gravitate to other game players, so it stands to reason we would like each other. I learned some new games which is always fun!
I got to see Maggie and her two cute girls! Mehlissa is so darling and active! She kept Mary running after her all afternoon on Fri! Jaycee just smiles and smiles. I miss those days when my kids and their friends hung out on vacation all together.

MARIN JR AND COLLIN'S VISIT

Watching BYU win!! Notice the BYU shirts and Collin's outfit! Go Cougars!

Hanging out at Misty's after Marcus's baptism
It was so fun having Marin and fam visit. They got a lot done in the short time they were here. They came in Thurs night about 11pm and Fri Marin came with me to Tonya's mom's house to have a spray tan for me. Marin would have had one but she was going to the temple that night with Whitney, JR's sister, to receive her endowment and didn't want tan rubbing off on her white temple dress. That night after the temple Garn and I met them at Yanni's Greek restaurant with Collin. It was so fun babysitting Collin. He's a smiley, happy baby.
Sat we were at Marcus's baptism at 9am! After, there was a luncheon at Misty's with all of Dan's family and all of us. We missed having Mandy's family with us. That would have made it complete. We stayed for quite a while and then that evening Marin, JR and Collin came over to watch the now famous BYU-Oklahoma game and picked up pizza benders at Italian Village at half time. We called Mandy after, and heard cheering on the phone! It was great fun!
Sun Marin and fam came to Sat Mtg and Lindsay Hansen Park came with her family and then after the mtg they saw some of the kids they went to high school with. JR even saw a guy he went to HS and BYU with in our ward! After, it was back to Mistys for a bbq celebrating Garn's 65th b-day, with Dan's family and all of us including JR's mom, Jeannine, and his sister Whitney and brother Archie. They had soo much food and it was all good! It was good to see all of Dan's family too.
Today, Marin and fam leave for Seattle. We're taking them to the airport at 11am. I'm already missing them. We missed Mandy and her family too. It's hard when we can't be all together at these family get togethers.

GO BYU!!

Yeah, we just beat Oklahoma! Marin and JR and Collin were here from Seattle to watch it with us and we kept Collin awake by our cheering! Pictures to follow.....Thanks Mandy for cheering with us!

CONGRATULATIONS MARCUS!

Marcus was baptized this morning. It was really special. Dan was conducting his ward's baptisms (which was only Marcus) and asked both Gr Mothers to say a few words. I teared up just thinking about how special receiving the Holy Ghost is and how sensitive Marcus is. I realized that he and his cousin Haylie are both sensitive and are now the same age. Wow, out of the 11 grkids, 7 have already been baptized!

Austin and Devan are 15 1/2 now and have their driving permits! In fact, Austin drove to the baptism in Herriman from Murray and Devan was driving to where they're going motorcycle riding today! They're both Sophs in HS this year. The time has flown...........

IT'S BAA..ACK

So the fever and horrendous headache and stiff neck came back yesterday. The headache and muscle aches got so bad that I took a pain pill from who knows how long ago but was sure to take it with food first! Well, not only did it not work it made me violently ill so I lost dinner too! Then I hurt all over and was nauseated on top of it! How do people get addicted to those things??

Today was better but I slept poorly and my stomach still is mad at me! At least the headache is almost gone. Now I'm just tired probably because I've been sleeping badly. I even missed my R-ball league last night which isn't like me! So I'm just going to rest and dream of this meadow and creek and hope this too shall pass!
